RX100 V / RX10 III 8/10 – Great feature-set, good detail with low aliasing, but significantly noisier than the others especially at 240fps; Canon 1D X Mark II 7/10 – Quite soft with aliasing issues – could be better but nice dynamic range; Samsung NX1 7/10 – High detail but high aliasing. The sensor in the pro-grade EOS 1D X sportsIt turns out that with the Canon 1D C in 2012, the company was laying the groundwork for future 2016 cameras in terms of the codec. It’s just a shame the codec in question is a 1990’s one. The 5D Mark IV specs mention the 4K codec as MJPEG 4:2:2 at 500Mbit/s which is in-line with expectations as the 1D C and 1D X Mark II use the same format.
